I just finished up the third novel in the Carter Series, Breaking Point, which brings the series's main villian, Elektra into play, as well as granting Loki Despotis his first mainstream appearance at the end.
Kill Zone picks up almost a year later, following the events of PASSIVE which chronicles Kat and Kim's abduction by Despotis. Kill Zone is the story of Kat's re-entry into life with her husband, Aidan Murphy, and her struggle with MPD.
I'm still in the research/planning phase. I orginally wrote it as the third novel in the series for last year's NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month -- the goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days) but the ending made no sense (I'd been watching too much Heroes by that point. I'm redoing it mostly from scratch in order to fit with the timeline and to deal with character reassignments.
It's fun to plan because I get to finally confront Kat's MPD and have Aidan realize the woman he loves needs help. Not to mention that one of her alters would gladly kill him.
Kill Zone revolves around a rouge female assassin targeting civilains in the terrority claimed by J. Carter and Associates, who no longer does assassinations for hire, which means Kat and Aidan have to go undercover to try and find out who is behind the murders. Using Kat's knowledge of computers and Aidan's knack for disguises, they come closer and closer to learning the truth, when someone close to them is killed.

Ok, on Freewebs they have a feature where you can sell stuff. Maybe we can sell the books ourselves on there, and get feedback from the people we sell to. then once we have a fan base for them, we can try and get them published?

Self-publishing is the hard route to go. I'm going to work on revising Coldest Degree, Fatal Target, and Breaking Point while I'm at school and then try and submit CD to agents again. It's a time-consuming process, but it can be done. But a fan base is a good idea--it'll help the books sell.

Like what? I'm in the planning phase for changes. Fatal Target is going to get the most revamping besides Breaking Point.

What if Kim 'Died' in PET so during FT Kat thinks it's her fault, but in PET Kim was crystal, or Thea. so She doesn't realize Kkim is that girl.

Hmm, we need to work more of PET into the beginning of FT. I almost think we should put it back in the series since the main thing of FT is Kat running from Weiss.

Ok. we don't have to have Kim die, I just thought it would be a cool idea.
